There’s a new name in the halls of News Corp, with Mark Simpson being appointed to the fresh spot of deputy general manager – sales for News Corp Australia Queensland.
The announcement was made by News Corp Australia’s GM of metro sales for The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail Kris Yule today, giving Simpson operational responsibility for overseeing the agency sales team.
Simpson will also be at the helm of integrating new business units, such as the digital and commercial partnerships teams and News Corp Studios, to keep client needs at the forefront of all ventures.
“Innovation is a core focus of our business, enabling us to consistently offer our customers integrated, first-to-market advertising solutions. Mark has an innovative approach and a passion for leading and developing talent in the business,” Yule said.
“I anticipate exciting developments with Mark overseeing our agency and commercial partnerships sales teams and digital product innovations including our new content and video offering, News Corp Studios.”
Simpson has worked at News Corp Australia since 2003 and has held varied sales roles within the Victorian sales team on publications such as the Herald Sun, Leader Community Newspapers and The Geelong Advertiser.
Simpson said, “I am excited about the opportunity to move into the Queensland Metro sales team. I look forward to applying my experience, and challenging how we work with our customers to develop new solutions that deliver growth for their business.”
Simpson will report to Yule with his role effective immediately.
