New NSW Sales Director for Fairfax’s Australian Publishing Media

Fairfax Media’s Australian Publishing Media national agency sales director Chris Freel has announced the appointment of Martin Wood as NSW agency sales director.

Wood is currently an agency group director at Fairfax Media and he has been promoted into the role previously held by Freel, who was last week announced as the new national agency sales director.

Wood has more than 19 years experience in media sales. He joined Fairfax in 2003 as a sales manager working across banking, finance, IT and sport before becoming national advertising manager at The Sun-Herald, then director of Fairfax integrated solutions.

This is the first key appointment by new national agency sales director Chris Freel, who said: “Martin brings fantastic experience, passion and drive and will be an exceptional leader for the NSW agency sales team. He is well respected by the team, agencies and advertisers and I am excited to be working closely with him to ensure we continue to drive best in market results and solutions for our clients.”

Wood said: “I’m very excited to lead and work with the team as we strive to become the best agency-facing sales team in NSW, through great service, insightful knowledge and a high standard of professionalism.”

Wood’s appointment is effective immediately.
