Nespresso Found George Clooney’s Doppelganger – In A Rip-Off Of One Of Its Ads!

Dreamboat George Clooney is the classic charmer in his ads for Nespresso, so naturally if someone tries to rip off the creative, it’s not going to go down well.

Which is why when Nespresso discovered that the Israeli Espresso Club was using an actor with an uncanny resemblance to Clooney, they weren’t going to take it lying down.

The ads show the Clooney doppelganger being schooled on the benefits of Espresso Club, with a disclaimer on the screen warning that the actor, silver-haired and holding what could easily be mistaken for a Nespresso bag, “is not George Clooney”.

You can decide for yourselves:

Nespresso Israel said on Thursday the legal step was taken to “prevent customers from being misled” and is demanding $US50,000 ($71,400) in damages, as well as requesting the ad be removed.

George Clooney is that you?!
George Clooney is that you?!

The Israeli Espresso Club says the ironic ad and the Clooney character were meant to target customers looking for a more “informal” coffee experience.

Regardless of the outcome, I think it’s fairly safe to say that there will never be another George Clooney:
