Moodagent Highlights Local Talent In New Content Series Starring Spacey Jane And Gretta Ray

Moodagent has launched a new content series in partnership with Splendour in the Grass to highlight local talent.

The first two videos in the series feature Spacey Jane and Gretta Ray, local artists who took part in the recent Splendour XR virtual event.

The series comes as streaming service Moodagent is ramping up its local marketing and content efforts three months after officially launching in ANZ.

Spacey Jane’s Caleb Harper and Ashton Hardman-Le Cornu discuss what drives their songwriting in their shortform video, telling viewers they write about lived experiences which enables listeners to feel a connection to the music. Hardman-Le Cornu says he writes the songs he wanted to write when he was a child.

The Moodagent Music Discovery Sessions video series is part of Moodagent’s social media push in ANZ to encourage sign ups for its mood-based streaming platform.

Moodagent’s user-centric features put the listener back in control. Intuitive playlist curation allows listeners to use moods, songs or artists to start a deeper discovery experience, then fine-tune a playlist with interactivity that delivers the right track, at the right time.

In her video, Gretta Ray, says she thinks about the moments that stay with you, often revisiting ideas years later.

“I think that just goes to show how amazing music is in the sense that it really stays with you in an unconscious way,” she says.

“It’s kind of like when you get a good song idea and you might not necessarily address it right there and then.

“But if it’s really, really good, it could visit you months or years later and be like ‘Oh, that’s that idea that I had on the train or in that session’, and it’s come back and it needs to be written, because it’s good.”

Moodagent’s ANZ team is led by former Spotify exec Tom Mee as General Manager of ANZ.

“It’s a unique streaming service with a proposition that tackles the challenge of music recommendations and discovery in a very personal and interactive way. With Australia having such a vibrant and diverse music culture Moodagent is perfectly suited to cater to the musical tastes of every fan, no matter what their mood,” he said of the platform as it launched into the region.
