Mecca’s chief marketer Kate Blythe is to depart the beauty retailer for Greencross – parent company of Greencross Vets, Petbarn and City Farmers, B&T can reveal.
B&T understands that Blythe is set to start at Greencross in January and will replace Nicholas Adams, the business’ current chief customer officer.
Blythe is a former B&T CMO Power List member and recently joined the ADMA Advisory Committee.
“Kate’s leadership has been integral in strengthening MECCA’s voice and presence over the last five years. She’s helped scale the brand in a truly omnichannel way, growing brand awareness and building an exceptional team across all areas of marketing,” a Mecca spokesperson told B&T.
“Kate will be missed and leaves with our gratitude, our thanks, and every good wish for the exciting chapter ahead.”
“A search for Kate’s replacement is underway.”
Adams has been with Greencross since December 2021 after spending just shy of a decade with Cancer Council NSW. Earlier this year, Petbarn launched a retail media network, ‘PetAds’, created with oOh!media’s reo retail media arm.
Petbarn’s creative agency, Howatson+Company, has created some impressive campaigns for the business of late, including the delightfully fun ‘Puppies and Kittens’.
B&T has contacted Greencross for comment. Nicholas Adams declined to comment.
