M&C Saatchi has reported solid revenue growth across its Australian and Asian businesses for the 2016 calendar year, and announced plans to launch a research company in Melbourne.
The group’s results showed a 13 per cent revenue increase in the 12 months to 31 December 2016, and also revealed that M&C Saatchi acquired 51 per cent of media agency Bohemia when the deal was done in February.
“This add-on positions us well for satisfying the needs of our clients, who are increasingly seeking a closer relationship between their media agency and the content and creative providers,” a company statement read.
Furthermore, M&C Saatchi announced that it is launching its “successful” UK research operation The Source in Melbourne.
The group’s headline operating profit for its Australian and Asian businesses was up 37 per cent on 2015 to $84.592 million, while its global revenue rose 26 per cent to $362.4 million, and global operating profit jumped 24 per cent to $37 million.
M&C Saatchi CEO David Kershaw said 2016 was an “outstanding” year for the group.
“We continue to roll out our proven strategy of winning new business and starting new businesses, and see positive momentum across our global network and business channels,” he said.
“The year has started well and we are confident that we will continue to make good progress in 2017 and beyond.”
