M&C Saatchi Snares UM’s Sophie Price As Group Head of Strategy

M&C Saatchi has appointed Sophie Price to the role of group head of strategy. Reporting to chief strategy officer Justin Graham, Price’s remit will span the M&C Saatchi Group where she will support the leadership teams across the advertising, communications and production businesses.

Group CSO, Justin Graham said: “I’ve known Sophie for a long time and have always admired her ability to engineer great work. In recent years, Sophie has relished the opportunity to productise the strategic offering, a critical skill that will help us thrive among the changing competitive dynamics of the industry.

“As we continue to run toward our ambition of ‘becoming Australia’s most influential creative company by 2020’, Sophie is a key hire in helping us think differently about the changing role of strategy. Her diverse background and experience in leading integrated teams makes her a perfect fit for our growing capabilities across the Group, in particular the recent addition of Bohemia.”

Price said: “I am excited to be part of this incredible group, and to lead a team that have the breadth and depth of capabilities to create connected brand experiences for our clients.”

Price is one of Australia’s most experienced and awarded planners and is a proven strategic leader both here and overseas. Prior to joining M&C Saatchi, she held the role of chief strategy officer at UM Australia. Price has also led strategy in creative agencies The Campaign Palace and The Monkeys.

She has received multiple Cannes Lions and Grand Prix awards from the Australian Effies and the Media Federation of Australia (MFA). Price is also regarded as the industries best mentor of emerging strategic leaders and was also selected by The Communications Council, to the chair the prestigious IPA Campaign Planning course in 2016 and 2017. Price was also awarded the B&T Australian Woman in Media award for Strategy in 2016.
