Mad Mex Partners With GWS Giants As Official Nutrition Partner

From this month, Greater Western Sydney GIANTS players will enjoy the best burritos in the world after each away game following the announcement that fresh Mexican grill Mad Mex has signed as the official post-match nutrition partner.

The customisable menu and online nutrition calculator at Mad Mex allows the GIANTS to choose a nutritious, calorie controlled combination tailored to each players’ personal tastes and dietary requirements.

This, as well as knowing that Mad Mex uses high quality ingredients and prepares all meat and guacamole fresh daily on-site at each Mad Mex store around the country, was a winner for the GIANTS.

GIANTS head of athletic performance David Joyce says the players are excited to start enjoying Mad Mex post games.

“It is crucial that our players are fuelled appropriately post-match and that the food they eat is both nutritious and fresh but also something they enjoy eating – that’s where Mad Mex is an ideal partner.”

For Mad Mex, the partnership complements the brand’s focus on educating consumers that fast food doesn’t have to be unhealthy and that the heavy, unwholesome Tex-Mex style of Mexican food from the 1990s is nothing like what you’ll find at Mad Mex.

“The food at Mad Mex is inspired by the coastal, Baja-Californian region so it focuses on freshness, quality ingredients and authentic Mexican recipes. We want to make it easy for people to choose food that suits their tastes and lifestyle so we provide the online nutritional calculator and ensure our menu is customisable,” said Gaye Steel, head of marketing, Mad Mex.

“Mad Mex is thrilled to be named as official post-match nutrition partner of the GIANTS and provide nutritional and delicious fresh Mexican food to the players post-match.”

It is expected that a firm favourite of the GIANTS players will be the Mad Mex burritos and naked burritos (without the tortilla) with freshly grilled or slow cooked meat, salad, brown rice, black beans, freshly made guacamole and cheese.
