McDonald’s marketing director Amanda Nakad will depart the QSR chain for a new senior marketing director role at Coca-Cola, B&T can reveal.
Nakad has worked at McDonald’s for nearly nine years, starting as a group brand manager before rising to become its marketing director.
Nakad will be taking a break before she starts at Coca-Cola in October.
“I’m leaving Macca’s with a huge amount of gratitude, especially for the incredible team I’ve had the privilege of working with – they’re what I’ll miss most,” Nakad told B&T.
“Macca’s is a marketers dream, our agency village is world-class and there have been so many great campaigns, lessons and plenty of laughs along the way. I’m really proud of what we’ve all achieved together, and I’ll be a Macca’s fan for life (cheeseburger on a steamed bun, IYKYK).
“It’s bittersweet saying goodbye but I’m genuinely excited for what’s next and the new chapter ahead of me later this year. I feel very fortunate.”
She will also step down from the board of the Ronald McDonald House Charities GWS, a role she described as a “privilege”.
Prior to joining Macca’s, Nakad spent 15 years with the Woolworths Group.
