Social software company Lithium Technologies has announced that an online community it powers, SANE Forums, won the Psychosocial Support category at the annual The MHS Mental Health Awards.
SANE Forums (offered as part of national mental health charity SANE Australia) is a safe and anonymous online platform for those looking for mental health care, support, advice and education.
Greg Joy, Lithium’s vice president of sales for the Asia-Pacific region, said whether it is through live forum events, discussion posts, informational articles or peer support, building strong connections and trusted relationships is especially important in the health community.
“We extend our congratulations to SANE Australia on their excellent achievement and are honoured to work together to provide the technology needed to create a safe, supportive community,” he said.
SANE Australia chief executive Jack Heath said it is extremely gratifying to be acknowledged for its online forums by the mental health industry.
“Peer support is invaluable when it comes to mental illness, and we thank Lithium for helping us use the power of their technology to connect those affected by mental illness and provide greater access to mental health resources,” he said.
