It’s Friday Gives Barker’s Alumni Community A Makeover

Independent creative agency It’s Friday has launched a new brand identity for Barker Alumni, marking a major refresh for the school’s alumni community.

The rebrand introduces a modernised logo and design system, replacing the legacy Old Barker Association identity with a more contemporary and unified brand.

The new system brings together the organisation’s various programs, clubs and initiatives under a single, consistent identity, designed to work seamlessly across digital, events and merchandise.

A key feature of the redesign is a simplified and flexible logo, supported by a bold visual language that balances Barker’s heritage with a more modern expression. The historic school crest has been retained for formal use, while the new identity has been created for everyday applications.

“We wanted to create a modern expression of what Barker stands for today, something that feels contemporary, inclusive and built for the future, while still carrying a sense of heritage. The goal was a brand alumni would genuinely feel proud to wear and be part of. At the centre of the identity is an infinity loop forming the letters ‘ba’, representing the lifelong connection people have with Barker and the idea that being part of the community doesn’t stop when school ends,” said Mariah Ferrer, senior designer at It’s Friday.

“This new identity reflects who we are today, a connected and inclusive alumni community. It gives us a platform to engage our alumni in a more meaningful and consistent way,” added Dush Sharma, the president of Barker Alumni.

“Barker Alumni presented an exciting opportunity to create a modern identity that celebrates the rich heritage of the school while looking confidently to the future. We’re proud to have helped develop a brand system that can support and grow one of Australia’s most engaged alumni communities. The new identity balances heritage and progress, giving alumni a modern symbol of connection that can unite sporting clubs, cultural groups, mentoring programs and future generations under one distinctive brand,” concluded Pete Bosilkovski, CEO of It’s Friday.

The new Barker Alumni identity will roll out across all touchpoints throughout 2026.
