BCM has been awarded ‘Best in Show’ at the prestigious W3 Digital Awards in New York, for its work with Queensland’s Transport Department.
The award was for BCM’s ‘Speed Pre-Roll Hijack’ YouTube campaign.
The campaign built pre-roll ads on-the-fly, to contextualise advertising content with YouTube videos.
From the 5,000 entries received globally, BCM were the only Australian agency to be awarded Best in Show at this year’s W3 Awards. The agency was awarded Best in Show in the General Marketing – Innovation and Experimental Category.
Best in Show is awarded to what judges consider the top 1 per cent of all entries. Other winners included Nike, NYU, Universal Pictures, Mastercard and BMW.
BCM also won three Silver Awards for their work on the Pre-Roll Hijack campaign, as well as for the creation of both VR and mobile app experiences.
BCM managing director Kevin Moreland said the recognition is testament to the quality of digital thinkers and creators at BCM and was proof that clients looking for digital solutions didn’t need to look outside of the state to get innovative world-class solutions.
The W3 Awards are run by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). AIVA members include executives from organisations such as Wired, Disney, Microsoft, Facebook, MTV and Yahoo!.
