The Hit Network Announces New Weekend Brekkie Show For Regional Australia

The Hit Network has announced that listeners of its regional stations across Australia will be waking up with a new breakfast show from the first weekend of February.

Bree Tomasel and Daniel Gawned will co-host the new show, which will feature from 7am to 9am each Saturday on all 38 of the network’s regional stations.

The duo, who have already racked up four years experience’ on the radio waves together, will continue to host their weekday breakfast show on the Central Coast’s 101.3 Sea FM.

Southern Cross Austereo’s head of content for regional radio, Mickey Maher, said it is a credit to Tomasel and Gawned’s talent to be given the opportunity to take their show to a greater audience.

“This appointment is an example of our commitment to grow and develop our people,” Maher said.

Tomasel said it was an incredible honour to have their show broadcast around Australia, “and an amazing platform that I still can’t believe SCA are trusting us with”.

“When I told my parents our show was going national every weekend, they told me I have to pay my own rego this year, so that sucks,” she said.

Gawned said going national has always been a major goal for the radio duo.

“To think our show will be broadcast on 35-plus stations right around Australia is huge. I can’t wait to share our show with the country every weekend,” he said.
