In the last year, Google has helped 1.3 million Aussie small businesses to connect with customers, digitize and grow. But Google’s impact doesn’t stop with those 1.3 million Australian businesses, it starts with them. When Google helps small businesses grow, their people grow too.

That’s the message in a new campaign from Google, created by Emotive and directed by UNCLE at AIRBAG.

The campaign focuses on the stories of employees from three small businesses – Henry from Tom’s Outdoors, Enrico from DRNKS and Bek from Buone Notti Backyard Glamping – and shows how they have each benefitted in their own careers and through the pandemic, thanks to the businesses they work for growing online.

Richard Flanagan, director of business and brand marketing, Google Australia said: “The challenges the past 18 months have brought to Australian small businesses, and the people they employ, have been immense. We’re really proud to bring this work to life at a time when Australia is reopening. Work that heroes the stories of three Australians who have each been positively impacted by the fact the business they work for grew with a bit of help from Google’s products and tools.”

Rupert Taylor, Emotive creative director said: “Business-centric campaigns usually tell the story of the founder, how they overcame adversity, grew the business, and now they’re successful, so it was great to tell the stories of the people who work for the businesses, featuring real people, and how growth has been good for their lives too.”

The national campaign launches today and will run across digital, print and OOH.
