There is officially less than a month until we undergo our Cannes Un-Canned event. Remember, all of our sessions are free, just make sure you click here to register.
If the ‘real’ Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity was still going ahead, now would be the time to start picking out your linen shirts and frocks for the big week.
But rather than wallowing about another cancelled event, today we’re giving you a teaser of all the fantastic talent we’ll be talking to as part of the virtual festival.
Sir martin sorrell
When it comes to big names in media and marketing, few come larger than Sir Martin Sorrell. The former WPP supremo is now leading his new venture S4 Capital into a brave new digital world.
He’s now one of digital advertising’s greatest advocates, having recently been quoted saying the coronavirus will “accelerate the digital revolution” as it will highlight businesses’ and consumers’ dependence on technology.
Sorrell’s new venture is already shaking up the industry, having made some notable acquisitions in the past year, just today announcing its programmatic media practice MightyHive will merge with Digodat, a leading Latin American data and analytics consultancy.
And as we know, Sorrell has not been shy about questioning the business models of major holding companies, particularly his former venture WPP.
“The holding companies are really challenged,” Sorrell said in January this year.
“They have the problems of all uncontrolled listed companies – companies that are not controlled by management and there’s separation between ownership and control.”
B&T‘s chat with Sir Martin Sorrell will be hosted by our editor-in-chief David Hovenden and is brought to you by Wrike.
Pia Chaudhuri, Carmela Soares and Tara Ford
Speaking on one of our virtual panels will be BMF group creative director Pia Chaudhuri, Facebook creative strategist Carmela Soares and DDB Sydney chief creative officer Tara Ford.
This panel will look into how creativity can be used to build a healthy, long-term brand rather than focusing on short-termism, click-rates, and impressions and will give you some local insights you probably wouldn’t have gotten in the South of France!.
Our panelists will also be discussing the value of emotion in advertising and why this connection is the key to keeping a brand top of mind.
This chat will be hosted by B&T reporter Ally Burnie.
Tam Al-Saad
An expert in everything growth marketing, Web Profits head of growth Tam Al-Saad will be leading a discussion around how businesses can prepare to navigate the ‘new normal’.
With marketers still finding themselves in a state of uncertainty, the question is now how to build strategies around the unknown?
Al-Saad will share his tips and tricks on how to drive growth while still remaining agile to the market conditions.
