For one night only, fashion brand G-Star – in collaboration with Sony – exhibited 25 playlists and images from 25 Australian talents at RAW RADIO in Sydney.
The exhibition celebrated unrestrained self-expression, creativity and G-Star’s enduring relationships with distinctive artists including Tkay Maidza, Louise van de Vorst and Byron Spencer.
Each playlist and image from the 25 talent was a unique interpretation of the latest drop of 25 fresh G-Star Elwood X25 prints, curated by Pharrell Williams.
The jeans, each with a sole and unique story, come in various fabrics and different qualities: lux prints, featuring detailed embroideries and top-notch printing techniques such as laser and discharge prints; digital animal prints; and the classic prints in new and unexpected interpretations.
Williams said the series represents a new take on the notion of self-expression.
“The 25 prints are an expression of true creativity,” he said.
“They give the wearer the freedom to choose for themselves, and by doing so, empower them to decide who they want to be and what they want to wear.”
Friends of the brand including Lily May Mac, Yasmin Suteja, Asta and Rachel Rutt came to support the event and were served Absolut Botanik, Jamesons, Le Petit Rosé and Mountain Goat beer.
