Location based marketing and software development agency Proximity Mobile has just released the ‘Divine App’. Kevin Wilkins, the agency’s creative director, explains what it does.
It is the first mobile application in the world to use Apple’s iBeacon technology to interact with a theatrical
performance and the show’s patrons through Bluetooth Low Energy ‘Beacons’.

The Beacons provided by another leading Sydney tech company Blue Cats provides information and ticketing functionality for the performances as well as providing discounts and coupon offers from local retail establishments.
The “Divine App” promotes the three unique performances of Dante’s Divine Comedy to be held in Redfern in late August that will be translated and performed by Composer and Technologist Diego Bosco, who is also the Founder and CTO of Proximity Mobile.
Now published and hot off the press, the “Divine App” has already received requests for listing by numerous businesses and retailers that in the coming weeks will be added to the app, just in time for the opening performance on the 21th of August.
