Fairfax Media national agency sales director Chris Freel today announced the appointment of Andrew Mudgway as the new Victorian agency sales director.
In his new role, Mudgway will be responsible for leading Fairfax’s Victorian agency sales team to create great solutions for advertisers across a vast portfolio of Fairfax digital, print and mobile products. He reports to Chris Freel.
Mudgway was previously the managing director of Initiative in Melbourne. He has several years experience working in the media sector and media agencies, starting his media career at George Patterson and DDB. Mudgway then moved to Paris with OMD, before returning to Australia with Zenith Optimedia and Austereo in strategy and sales roles. He joined Initiative in 2010.
Freel said: “The media landscape is constantly changing and Andrew brings a great depth of experience with advertisers, agencies and publishers and is well equipped to navigate this change. As we build deeper, more strategic partnerships with agencies and advertisers, it is crucial to invest in the best people to execute this strategy. Andrew is a brilliant addition to the team and we are very excited to welcome him on board.”
Mudgway said: “I am thrilled to be joining Fairfax Media and look forward to working with such strong brands as The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Australian Financial Review. It’s a great opportunity to consolidate my experience, working in a dynamic, digitally focused business that is very well positioned for the future.
“Right now there is an extraordinary opportunity to bring together audiences and advertisers in ways that generate tangible and enduring value and Fairfax Media has the audience, technology, people and platforms to deliver on this.”
Initiative CEO Lee Leggett said: “We wish Andrew the greatest of success in his return to the media side. He leaves our Melbourne office with a strong and talented team, headed by general manager Stephen Fisher and we are confident the business is in very good hands.”
Mudgway’s appointment is effective from July 2015.
