Fairfax Media has celebrated 10 years of its Watch lift-out in the Australian Financial Review magazine with exclusive events hosting globally-renowned watch brands in Sydney and Melbourne.

The events drew more than 70 people from over 25 luxury brands. The 52-page tenth anniversary issue of Watch is inside the August issue of the AFRedited by new editor Matthew Drummond together with the AFR‘s Watch editor, Bani McSpedden.

“With the publication of Watch in August 2007 we became the first mainstream media title in Australia to create a dedicated supplement covering watches,” Drummond said.

“Ten years later, Watch continues to set the standard thanks to its editorship by Australia’s most esteemed watch expert, Bani McSpedden.”

Nerissa Corbett, brand and audiences director at Fairfax Prestige, said: “We are delighted to celebrate 10 successful years of Watch inserted in the Australian Financial Review magazine.

“The AFR magazine, along with Bani McSpedden, has pioneered serious watch journalism in this country, and offers watch brands both an independent and high-quality editorial environment, as well as reach into a premium and high net worth audience on a national basis.

“We thanked our Watch clients for their continued support and also reflected on how much the market in Australia has matured and grown over this ten year journey together.”
