Matt Northey.

Omnicom Media Australia has appointed Matt Northey to head of education and experience, strengthening its investment in capability, careers and leadership across the business.

At Omnicom Media Australia, Northey will spearhead career development and employee experience while supporting transformation initiatives across the business. A key part of his remit will be enhancing pathways for growth and leadership, helping people build rewarding careers across Omnicom.

Northey joins Omnicom Media Australia from TikTok, where he served as APAC head of global education, supporting global business solutions across nine markets. At TikTok, Northey partnered closely with commercial leaders to embed education into the organisation, strengthening seller capability, product fluency, client engagement and go-to-market execution.

His appointment strengthens Omnicom Media Australia’s people offering and leadership, supporting talent development across its agencies and specialist business units.

Earlier in his career, Northey held learning and development roles across organisations including Urbis, Heinemann Asia Pacific and Emirates, where he shaped programs designed to enhance client experience and drive enterprise performance.

The appointment builds on Omnicom Media Australia’s ongoing investment in its people, alongside leveraging initiatives including Omnicom Oceania’s recently announced partnership with Mark Ritson to provide more than 1,000 employees with access to MiniMBA programs.

“Our people have always been at the heart of our success, and creating meaningful opportunities for them to grow and develop is one of the most important investments we can make,” said Alexia Bryant, chief people and experience officer of Omnicom Media Australia.

“Matt brings extensive experience building high-performing learning cultures within some of the world’s most dynamic organisations. His experience will help us continue creating an environment where our people can build rewarding careers, develop new expertise and contribute to the long-term success of our agencies and clients.”

Of his appointment, Matt Northey, head of education and experience, Omnicom Media Australia, said: “Careers today are more dynamic than ever, and people are looking for opportunities to continually learn, develop and broaden their experience. Omnicom Media has a strong foundation in this area and a genuine commitment to investing in its people.”

“I’m looking forward to helping create even more opportunities for growth and connection across the business.”
