Erik Heller, Simon Wake.

Erik Heller has been appointed CEO of Ipsos Australia, current CEO Simon Wake will move into a newly created role as Asia Pacific audience measurement service line leader, based in Sydney.

As Australia CEO, Wake oversaw three acquisitions and a long list of major contract wins to build the most diverse research agency in the Australian market.

EY Sweeney Partner Heller joins Ipsos with more than 20 years’ experience spanning research, insights, advisory and business transformation. He brings deep client and commercial expertise, extensive experience leading teams in complex organisations and a strong track record of helping businesses turn customer understanding into improved performance and transformation.

Kelly Beaver, Global CEO of Ipsos, said: “Australia is an important market for Ipsos and is well positioned for continued growth. Erik’s appointment gives us the leadership to build on that momentum locally, while Simon’s new regional role reflects the scale of opportunity we see in audience measurement across APEC. Together, these appointments strengthen our ability to grow with pace and create greater impact across the region.”

Hamish Munro, APEC CEO of Ipsos, said: “We see significant potential ahead for both Australia and APEC. Australia is entering its next phase of growth, while audience measurement represents a major opportunity for expansion across the region. These appointments position us to capitalise on both – helping us grow faster, innovate more effectively and create greater value for our clients.”

Commenting on his new role, Heller said: “I’m excited to be joining Ipsos at a time of real opportunity for the business in Australia. Ipsos has an outstanding reputation for combining deep expertise, high-quality insights and a genuine understanding of the challenges facing its clients. I’m looking forward to working with the talented team at Ipsos to deepen our client partnerships and help organisations turn a better understanding of their customers and markets into stronger business outcomes. There is significant potential to build on the momentum already established in Australia.”

Wake said: “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built in Australia over the past decade. We have an outstanding leadership team, talented people across the organisation and trusted relationships with our clients, which leaves the Australian business in great shape for its next phase of growth under Erik’s leadership.

“I’m equally excited about the opportunity ahead for audience measurement across Asia Pacific. The market is evolving rapidly and there is significant potential to build on Ipsos’ expertise, capabilities and partnerships across the region. I’m looking forward to working with our teams and clients to unlock that opportunity and accelerate our growth.”

Both appointments are effective immediately.
