The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 has appointed Cummins&Partners as its new creative partner after a competitive pitch.
Cummins&Partners will work closely with the LOC in a two-year engagement from now until 2020 when Australia plays host to two T20 World Cup cricket tournaments.
For the first time, the women’s and men’s competitions will be held as stand-alone events in the same host country and in the same year. It will feature the world’s 10 best women’s teams and 16 best men’s teams who will gather in Australia to battle it out for the ultimate prize in T20 cricket.
LOC CEO Nick Hockley said: “Throughout the whole pitch process we were impressed by Cummins&Partners’ insight, energy and progressive approach to the creative process.”
Sean Cummins added, “It’s exciting to work on a format that has reinvigorated the sport. To have the opportunity to launch the first official T20 World Cup for females and males, is an absolute privilege and we cannot wait to get the campaign up and running”.
This comes at an incredibly exciting time in world cricket as the T20 format was recently elevated to World Cup status, by the ICC at the conclusion of the recent Women’s World T20 in the Caribbean. This combined with the fact that the Australian Women’s team will be defending their title on home soil in 2020 will generate widespread excitement across the country.
