Multi-award-winning country singer, Gina Jeffreys, has joined Dave ‘Rabbit’ Rabbetts as co-host of Star 104.5’s new breakfast show, Rabbit & Gina, which premiered Monday morning.
This is not Jeffreys’ first rodeo. She was previously a special guest on the Central Coast station for several weeks in December last year, prior to which she co-hosted the Cancer Council’s “Stars of the Central Coast” with Rabbit for two consecutive years from 2017.
“I’m going to be spending my mornings hanging out with someone who makes me laugh so hard it hurts!” Said Jeffreys.
“Rabbit is the right mix of professional and fun. He’s off the cuff, quick witted, honest and funny.
“Joining Star 104.5 is not only about the laughs, we also share the same core beliefs – seeing the best in people, admiring kindness, celebrating life and having a positive outlook. What a way to start each day! I’m so excited to be a part of the Star family.”
Rabbit was equally enthusiastic about his new co-host.
“I’ve completely lost my voice during Gina’s time with the show last year,” he said. “Either I’m allergic to her, or we’re laughing so much it actually hurts! Time will tell…”
Star 104.5’s program director, Shayne Sinclair said he’d had his eye on Gina Jeffreys for some time.
“She’s a natural born entertainer, a Central Coast local through and through, and I’m also told she’s a pretty good singer!” He said.
“I couldn’t be happier that the stars have aligned (pun intended!) and we’ve been able to bring Gina into the Star 104.5 family in 2022.”
Jeffreys burst onto the music scene in 1991 and quickly made a name for herself as the face of Australian country music, opening for the likes of Johnny Cash, and becoming the first country female artist to go platinum in Australia.
On the other hand, Rabbit boasts 30-years of radio experience, having worked at multiple stations across Australia and New Zealand. He has hosted Star 104.5’s breakfast program since 2015.
Rabbit & Gina is currently airing on Star 104.5 from 6am weekdays.
