The Communications Council and Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC) today announce the consolidation of management of both industry bodies in Western Australia.
PADC will now be powered by The Communications Council in WA, with state manager Danielle Norrish overseeing the administration of the club, as well as continuing the work of The Communications Council, which delivers AdSchool, AWARD School, the Account Planning Group, Effie Awards and Youngbloods in the state.
Tony Hale, CEO of The Communications Council, said: “This is a very important move for both organisations, galvanizing the thriving creative community in WA. A consolidated approach means greater efficiencies as well as greater support for members across both groups.”
Norrish said: “An agreement has been entered into by the two associations, and the PADC will remain an independent entity. The aim of this agreement is to streamline process, ensure cost-efficiencies, unite our work in raising the credibility and profitability of the advertising and marketing industry in Western Australia, and to deliver a consolidated industry approach to advocacy, professional development and representation to government, media and the public.”
To coincide with this announcement, the WA Council will move to a new phase of engaging with its members, hosting two general meetings per year for corporate members and a schedule of working groups focusing in areas of education, awards and industry promotion.
Mark Braddock, President of PADC, said: “This is a strong decision which is fundamentally important in securing a sustainable future for our club – a club that has a 33 year history. It was important for us to maintain the PADC’s independence while creating a platform that lets us tap into a more permanent infrastructure with national and international networks.”
This change will be effective from 1st April 2015 and will see current PADC Club Manager, Karen Marks, step down from the role. A special tribute was made to Karen at the club’s Annual General Meeting last month, recognising the incredible contribution made to industry through what has been a difficult time for the PADC.
