Network Ten parent company CBS has ousted its CEO Leslie Moonves following a series of sexual harassment allegations.
Moonves, who stood down this morning, had been at the helm of CBS as chairman, president and CEO since 2006.
His departure follows an article published on Sunday by The New Yorker where six separate women claimed Moonves had acted inappropriately towards them; accusing the outgoing CEO of forced oral sex and bullying.
Reacting to the article on Sunday, CBS said in a statement, “Moonves and CBS will donate $20 million to one or more organizations that support the #MeToo movement and equality for women in the workplace.”
Moonves has now left the company, with COO Joseph Ianniello to act as president and CEO “while the Board conducts a search for a permanent successor,” according to CBS.
