The Canberra Short Film Festival (CSFF) will this year screen 114 short films across eight days from 10 to 17 October at two central venues, Dendy Cinemas and Smith’s Alternative.
Now in its 31st year, CSFF is one of Australia’s longest-running competition-based short film festivals. This year’s program spans 11 categories and was selected from hundreds of submissions.
The 2026 line-up includes films from Canberra local creatives and First Nations filmmakers, alongside work from across Australia and 7 international films. The program also features student submissions and music videos, reflecting the breadth of voices and formats the festival continues to attract.
“Our judges had the hard job of shortlisting from hundreds of submissions, which speaks to the calibre of work being made right now. Whether it’s a first-time student film or work from overseas, every submission is judged on the same thing: does it have a distinct point of view? Budget is irrelevant. Vision is everything,” said festival director Bruce Davie.
The full program, including session times and ticketing details, will be released late-September.
