Campaign: Community Pharmacies Fight Back Against Supermarket-Style

As supermarket-style pharmacies vie for market share and the government puts a squeeze on medication subsidies, community pharmacies are fighting back with a campaign that highlights their value to patients nation-wide.

The campaign comes from the Pharmacy Guild of Australia.

The ‘Discover more. Ask your Pharmacist’ campaign promotes the wide-range of health services community pharmacies provide, focussing on four key areas; health checks, pain management, post-acute care and in-home care.

Sydney agency Jack Watts Currie (JWC) created the campaign, which it hopes will change the public’s perception of pharmacies, from solely dispensers of medicines to providers of a broad range of healthcare services and advice.

“Creating something beautiful that can genuinely improve the quality of people’s lives is a pretty special opportunity,” said Colin Watts, JWC creative director.

Pharmacists across Australia are ready to get behind the campaign, with in-store collateral being distributed to around 5000 community pharmacies nation-wide.

“Many Australians simply aren’t aware of the services on offer in their community pharmacies.” said Pharmacy Guild marketing manager Tim McLaren, “This campaign encourages all Australians to discover more and ask their pharmacist about what services they offer.”

Discover More. Ask your Pharmacist launches nationally on Sunday across TV, press, in-store and digital. See www.askyourpharmacist.com.au
