Healthcare company Bupa has appointed Jane Power as its new director of marketing for Australia and New Zealand.
Power will join Bupa’s executive team from the beginning of next year, and succeeds John Moore, who is moving to Bupa’s corporate centre in London to take up a new global customer service leadership role.
Power is currently Bupa’s director of brand, health and care marketing for Australia and New Zealand, and has also been Bupa’s key global brand lead, a role she will continue when she assumes the position of marketing director.
Power joined Bupa in 2013 from Suncorp Group, where she worked as its executive manager of direct life as well as its executive manager of wealth management and direct risk.
Power also spent five years at MLC working across a range of roles, and prior to that, was the head of product and marketing at Asteron.
Bupa’s people director, Naomi Attwood, said Power brings to the role a great depth of marketing and commercial experience.
“Jane has passionately led our brand strategy for the past two years, bringing the Bupa brand in our Australian, and more recently, New Zealand markets to life in a new way,” she said.
Commenting on her appointment, Power said she was incredibly honoured to be given the opportunity to lead Bupa’s marketing team.
“As a marketing group, we have worked very hard over the last few years to re-position Bupa as a broad health and care company,” she said.
“We know those efforts are making a real difference to the way our customers feel about the brand as a whole.
“For that reason, our marketing activity will continue to focus on making that real difference in health and care, particularly delivering on the experiences that are important to our customers and people.”
Bupa said in a statement that a new director of brand, health and care marketing will be appointed “in due course”.
