“Bizarre!” Barrie Cassidy Lambasts ABC Over Election Coverage

Journo and former Insider host Barrie Cassidy slammed the ABC on Saturday night over its election coverage on Twitter.

For those, who missed it! Our federal election was on Saturday and Albo won the election and ScoMo lost. Labor is in, Liberal is out and it’s a pretty big deal.

Naturally, all the networks were covering the election as the results rolled in, but Cassidy wasn’t impressed with ABC’s coverage.

Cassidy was taking aim at Leigh Sales, Insiders host David Speers, Laura Tingle and Antony Green – so he was calling out some industry heavyweights.

Cassidy tweeted, “This ABC coverage is really quite bizarre. There’s barely any mention that we have a new government.”

The tweet was liked eighteen thousand times.

Cassidy followed that tweet up with, “The discussions around how the liberals will cope is nauseating. Guys, we have a new government. Discuss.”

This tweet was liked over sixteen thousand times.

While Cassidy’s tweets are pretty brutal the amount of love they got online does seem to suggest his opinion isn’t an unpopular one.
