Finally Revealed! The Location For Australian Survivor!

While we all waited with bated breath to see who would take out the coveted position of host of Australian Survivor, an equally anticipated area was where the bloody hell it was going to be filmed! Well, Network Ten is keeping us in the dark no longer, revealing this morning the first season of Australian Survivor will be broadcast in Samoa.

The US version of the reality survival show, of which the Aussie version is modelled off, shot a season in Samoa in 2009.

Chief programming officer at Network Ten, Beverly McGarvey said Samoa was the perfect location for the first season to be filmed due to the area’s luscious vegetation, stunning waterfalls and clear-blue ocean.

And more than 1500 people applied to be on the first season. But alas, the 24 Survivors have already been chosen and are being shipped off to Samoa soon. We still don’t have an air date yet.

“The 24 Australian contestants we have selected will be transported to a unique and very different world, where they will have to outwit, outlast and outplay to become the ultimate survivor,” said McGarvey.

“We have wanted to create Australian Survivor for many years. We are delighted to be able to bring this amazing show to viewers.”

Actor and fitness enthusiast Jonathan LaPaglia was recently announced as the host of Australian Survivor.
