Fresh from becoming the first company to be valued at $US2 trillion, phone appliance maker Apple has unveiled its latest campaign that, it has to be said, is rollicking good fun.
Called “Over sharing” and the work of its in-house creative team, the witty spot aims to reassure its iPhone users that the company doesn’t steal, nick and then on-share your data.
In the era of the tech titans repeatedly being called out for privacy breaches (TikTok, Facebook et al), Apple bosses clearly don’t want to be grilled by a US senate enquiry, constantly reaffirming the brand’s committment that privacy is a “fundamental human right” and one of the company’s “core values”.
The ad doesn’t mention any of its rivals who’ve made global news for breaches, large-scale hacks and otherwise questionable privacy practices, but it’s arguably pretty clear who Apple’s taking aim at here.
