Apple has promised to make its carbon footprint non-existent by 2030 and has released “a climate change promise from Apple” to cement its goal.
Apple reached carbon neutral in April 2020, meaning its facilities, corporate emissions, and corporate travel doesn’t contribute carbon to the planet.
However, its next goal is that by 2030, “every Apple device sold will have net-zero climate impact.”
It pledges to make all of Apple 100% carbon neutral by using renewable energy and recycled materials throughout its supply chain, restoring natural ecosystems around the world, and reusing as much as it can.
Apple said: “While designing the world’s most innovative products, we’re also designing a sustainable manufacturing process. To really get to carbon zero while making products people all over the world love — a lot of people might say that’s impossible. We say it won’t be. Keep an eye on us and see.”
