Apple Unveils Latest iPhone, But Everyone’s Talking About The Event’s Disappearing Woman!

When Apple supremo Tim Cook gets up on stage at his Cupertino HQ to launch anything new it seems to garner the attention of the globe, be it tech heads or otherwise.

Cook did that again overnight, unveiling the company’s new iPhone 14 (read B&T’s coverage HERE), as well as some new AirPod features.

Cook’s presentation was a solid 90-minutes (which you can watch in its entirety HERE), but it’s what happened at the very end that’s caught the attention of social media today.

Right at the finale, Cook gets replaced by by an image of a woman apparently waiting to board a subway train.

The woman doesn’t appear to be spruiking any Apple gadgetry and then strangely just vanishes before the footage cuts back to the Apple logo. Check it out below:

Apple fans quickly took to Twitter to discuss what the hell was going on. “Anyone know what the woman at the subway in the end of the Apple event today was all about?” one confused Twitter user wrote. Another added: “What was that weird thing at the end? With the woman waiting on the subway platform?”

Suggestions of what it could mean include a reference to the new AirPods Pro that include improved noise cancelling features – and Apple showed people on a similar subway train during the presentation.

Others said the video could be a reference to Apple’s widely rumoured augmented reality features.

Another theory is that the woman might be a character from one of Apple TV’s shows, Severance. Fans of the show might see the resemblance between the woman and the show’s character, Helly. The series ended on a cliffhanger when it was released earlier this year, so the inclusion of the woman could be Apple’s way of hinting about what’s to come in a possible future series.

While, one last theory is the whole thing is just one big red herring designed to send Apple addicts on a wild goose chase. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time the company has done it.
