Apple Just Made A Song From 45 Years Of Its Devices Starting Up & It’s Actually Pretty Cool

There’s nothing more distinctive than the ping, the pong and the dong of a piece of Apple tech starting up.

And now the clever folk at the world’s biggest tech firm have collated 45 years worth of sounds (the first Mac computer launched in July 1976) and magnificently cobbled it together to make a rather unique song and accompanying TVC.

Unsurprisingly called “Start Up”, the song debuted at Apple’s Unleashed event overnight which saw the unveiling of a raft of new products including a new MacBook Pro, faster M1 chip and third-generation AirPods.

The song was made by English producer, singer and songwriter A. G. Cook – who also stars in the video – who used the sounds of the iMac G3 and MacBook Pro Startup chime, iPod Click Wheel, iPhone keyboard to create the catchy tune. The track, naturally, was made on Apple’s Logic Pro.

The video shows snippets of how Cook created the song including plugging and unplugging Macs, opening and closing AirPods cases and pairing iPhones to HomePods. Check out the fun below:
