Anthony De Ceglie Promoted To The West Australian Newspapers Editor In Chief

Seven West Media has promoted Anthony De Ceglie to the role of editor in chief, The West Australian Newspapers.

De Ceglie joined Seven West Media WA in January of this year as Senior Editor, and has since reinvigorated the editorial department, successfully integrated Community Newspaper Group and Regional Newspapers, and was integral in the launch of digital subscriptions to thewest.com.au.

Seven West Media Chairman, Kerry Stokes AC said “I am incredibly grateful for the hard work and dedication from Anthony this year, having initiated a lot of change both with his team and across our print and digital products.

“Anthony has proven he understands our audience and has made his mark by instilling a discipline that ensures our products are the best they can be, every single day, for our readers.”

On his promotion, De Ceglie said: “I’m so appreciative for the opportunity to lead The West Australian, The SundayTimes, PerthNow and our 19 regional and 12 community newspapers.

“2019 has been a big year that has seen the West Australian Newspapers do everything from hold the first-ever federal election leader’s debate in WA, to the successful launch of digital subscriptions on thewest.com.au. I’m confident that 2020 will be even bigger and we’re primed to capitalise on what has been a year of transformation and integration.”

De Ceglie’s promotion is effective immediately.
