The make-over that Nine has given its flagship NRL analysis program The Footy Show has been met with an overly negative reaction from viewers.
The debut episode of the new-look Footy Show went to air last night, with Erin Molan, Beau Ryan and Darryl “The Big Marn” Brohman returning to the hosting panel alongside NRL legends Andrew Johns and Ryan Girdler, who have filled the gap left by longtime host Andrew “Fatty” Vautin.
However, the show’s new, more serious format came under fire by a buttload of viewers, who took to social media to vent their frustration.

Absolute trainwreck cringe inducing TV production. It’s mind boggling to me that the producers here are still stuck in 1998 for concepts, content and audience. No energy, stale, awkward and no emotional experience for viewers at all.

To make matters worse the show’s producers made a hilarious gaffe by failing to put out a chair for Ryan to join the panel.
