VCCP’s Spanish office is capitalising on financial uncertainty encouraging people to once again hide their cash under their beds, by launching a range of mattresses with built-in safes.
Capitalising on Spaniards fear of big banks following years of turmoil the ‘My Mattress Savings Bank’ is now available in selected stores there, and has been marketed like a financial institution.
Using the slogan “Your money is very close to you” the campaign presents the owner of mattress maker DESS as the president of the fictitious financial institution, creating a website with a financial calculator which always returns the same result regardless of the terms.
It was launched at TEDX Marbella earlier this month, with ECD Beto Nahmad saying crisis is the “perfect environment to empower creativity”.
