EXCLUSIVE: Telstra is remaining tight-lipped about the impact to staff numbers after the company confirmed it was reviewing the structure of its digital media division.
The telco giant has confirmed to B&T that it's currently looking at ways to improve its digital media strategy, while Telstra refused to rule out whether this will result in a boost or reduction to staff numbers.
"It’s no secret that we have been reviewing the digital media and IPTV (DM&I) structure to best execute our media strategy, but when we have something to announce we will do our staff the courtesy of letting them be the first to hear about it,” a spokesperson for the company said.
Last month, Telstra handed chief marketing officer Mark Buckman added responsibility of heading up the DM&I division for the telco, after incumbent J.B. Rousselot decided to step down after a decade with the company.
Buckman, the current marketer of the year, has been charged with overseeing the department which includes the MOG music streaming service and Big Pond.
In May last year, Former Clemenger BBDO digital innovation boss Adam Good (pictured) was lured back from the US to take on the role of director of digital, media and content for Telstra, following a stint as executive vice president of decorated agency Proximity Worldwidein San Francisco.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Telstra launched a partnership with new music ticket service BangTango, as the company looks to get a foothold into the premium ticket marketing.
