Nine’s answer to the social TV competition – Jump-In – has been boosted with the launch of an iPhone app.
The social TV app also now offers advertisers brand and consumer opportunities to reach audiences across iPhone, iPad and Windows 8 devices.
The full launch, which follows the first-phase launch timed to coincide with the London 2012 Olympics, coincides with the start of The Block All Stars on Nine tonight. The app features 360-degree rooms tours, room reveals, news on the stars, voting and commenting, competitions, catch-up on missed episodes, and the ability to interact with friends and other fans.
Jump-In is competing with the likes of Seven’s Fango and also Zeebox, launched in partnership with Network Ten, for viewers’ attention.
Matt James, managing director of Mi9 Media, said: “Jump-In goes beyond social interactivity and provides TV viewers with more. People want bigger viewing experiences and to get inside their favourite shows, connecting with the stars and getting all those extra bits of information to give them one-up on their mates and other viewers.
“This, in turn, will provide a strong platform for brands to connect with highly passionate, loyal and engaged TV fans to drive deeper consumer relationships across multiple devices.”
Jump-In will be available for Nine’s top shows, as well as selected programs on Go and Gem.
