Creative agency JMK has rebranded to ‘Matterhorn’ as Garry Horner joining as an equity partner.
The move is a reunion for JMK founder Matt Kemsley and Horner who were creative partners with Horner was ECD at Whybin/TBWA Sydney.
'Matterhorn' is a combination of both Kemsley and Horner's name but it also borrows from one of Europe's most famous mountains, the Matterhorn (pictured).
Kemsley said Horner’s move will help accelerate his and fellow-founder, Julian Martin, vision of the agency becoming a “top class globally recognised creative business”.
“Despite the constant speculation about the future of the advertising business, Garry and I have always understood that the only thing clients really want is a smart creative strategy which leads to great creative work that gets results. Wherever and however that work may appear, clients just want results. That simple philosophy has always been and will continue to be our absolute focus,” Kemsley said.
Martin added: “Garry joining will help enormously on the journey to become an exciting creative company. With Garry and Matt driving that agenda, I will now be able to focus on growing The Brand Central strategy unit which will work with Matterhorn and the other companies working here in The Fort Street Group including Sitback (Digital) and Zonk (Data).”
Added Horner: “Being a partner in my own agency was the opportunity I wanted to pursue when coming back to Sydney. Working with Matt again is the perfect outcome and whilst we already have some great clients, we see a lot of opportunities for growth and of course have some fun along the way.”
