Gruen Nation’s third dose of election advertising critique stole the show for the ABC last night, as the most-watched non-news program.

The comedy show pulled in 1.045 million viewers across Australia’s five metro areas, according to figures from Oztam, ranking third in the free-to-air program rundown.

Last night’s Gruen Nation saw 303Lowe and Havas battle it out in The Pitch, with 303Lowe producing a pro-Clive Palmer ad and Havas contradicting it with an anti-Palmer spot. 303Lowe pipped Havas to the post, with three votes against two.

Topping the free-to-air shows last night was Seven News, with 1.195 million viewers, followed by Nine News with 1.154 million.

Seven’s Slideshow came in sixth place, with 935,000 people tuning in, closely followed by Masterchef Australia on Ten, with an audience of 910,000.

The Chaster team’s The Hamster Decides, on ABC1, also made it into the top 10, in ninth spot with 815,000 viewers.

Completing the top 10 was Today Tonight on Seven (fourth with 958,000 viewers), Nine’s A Current Affair (fifth spot with 952,000), Seven’s Home and Away (eighth spot with 904,000) and ABC News in tenth place (806,000 viewers).

Ten’s Wonderland came in 11th, with 769,000 people watching.
