Google’s Dorstewitz rolls into Haystac

Integrated PR and communications agency Haystac has appointed Henning Dorstewitz (pictured) as acting general manager of its Sydney office.

Dorstewitz joins the Aegis Media-owned agency from Google where he was global communications and public affairs manager, Australia and New Zealand. He will report to Haystac’s national general manager, Patrick O’Beirne.

Prior to his time with Google, Dorstewitz worked for German PR firm a+o. He will lead Haystac Sydney’s operations until general manager Tabitha Fairbairn returns from maternity leave in 2014. Dorstewitz will assume a senior position in the company after Fairbairn’s return.

“Henning is well regarded and respected in the industry and complements our existing team of skilled consultants in Sydney,” said Haystac managing director, Anton Staindl.

“Haystac has been supporting Google’s communications efforts in Australia for the past two years, which gave me a deep insight into its strategic approach to PR. I can’t wait to join the team and start working with some of the global companies and brands they represent,” said Dorstewitz.

Haystac will continue its relationship with Google Australia after Henning’s 1 October start. The account is run out of Sydney.

Haystac Australia has offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
