Each month on B&T, Fabulate’s head of strategy and talent, Lucy Ronald, breaks down what’s trending on TikTok—and more importantly, why it matters.
March was very much in its getting ready era… but with a twist. We saw creators rework the classic GRWM, experiment with format, and lean into more stylised, personality-led edits. It felt more intentional, more cinematic, and a lot more “main character”.
Here’s what was everywhere:
Landscape Short Film:
What it is: Creators are flipping their phones (literally) and shooting in landscape, turning everyday routines into aesthetic short films. Think: floor POV shots, slow morning moments, quick cuts of skincare, matcha, outfit, then out the door.
It feels less like content, more like a scene from a film – and that’s exactly why it’s working.

Get Ready Without Me
What it is: A playful twist on the classic GRWM. The creator starts getting ready… disappears halfway through… then cuts back fully done.
It’s simple, a bit unexpected, and taps into that quick-cut, low-effort humour TikTok loves.

Colourful Messages
What it is: Minimal visuals paired with bold, colourful text overlays — bright pinks, blues, lilacs, yellows layered over simple clips.
It feels fresher than standard captions and immediately scroll-stopping. Proof that sometimes the hook is the text.

I Know What You Like
What it is: Set to Harry Styles’ Carla’s Song, creators open with “I know what you like” before revealing “I know what you really like” – usually through a collage of hyper-specific favourites.
From coffee orders to niche music tastes, it’s basically personality bait in the best way.

Why You So Obsessed With Me
What it is: A creator yells to grab attention while walking past a group. As people turn around, the frame freezes with the “Why you so obsessed with me” audio.
The magic is in the reactions – chaotic, unexpected, and very “main character energy”.
