“Zoolander Territory!” Kanye West Slammed For Displaying Yeezy Threads In Garbage Bags

Kanye West is hitting back at criticism for showcasing his latest Yeezy Gap collection in garbage bags.

It’s 2022, inflation is happening, and West is defending his right to store his designer GAP clothes in literal garbage bags. Yes, people are forced to forage for their designer goods.

During an interview with Fox & Friends, he said: “I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologise about my ideas.

“That’s exactly what the media tries to do. Make us apologise for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think.”

He also clarified that they are construction bags, not garbage bags, but they look very similar to garbage bags.

Basically, he is defending his right to display clothes in garbage bags. This is an interesting response because no one is questioning his right to use the garbage bags. People are instead criticising the fact he is choosing to use garbage bags.

Also, it’s worth keeping in mind the clothes stuffed in the bags that customers then have to riffle through aren’t cheap. Yeezy hoodies retail for around $US240, and a basic t-shirt hits the $US120 mark.

Naturally, Twitter has gone wild over it.

While the backlash is loud, it will be more interesting to see if consumers actually dig through the garbage bags/construction bags for Yeezy.
