Attention, all young up-and-comers! To celebrate International Women’s Day, News Corp has launched their very own mentor program for young media professionals to connect with female industry leaders.

News Corp launched Australia’s largest digital women’s network, With Her In Mind Network (WHIMN) over a year ago, and has now joined the call to #PressForProgress for gender parity.

And today, WHIMN general manager Georgi Pell announced the networks new mentoring program.

The mentors for the program are killer – and are leaders in the media industry and have been selected based on their influence and knowledge within their field.

The program will run over next year, providing mentors and mentees with opportunities to develop a connection, offer career direction and advice, identify opportunities for growth and provide feedback and support. As a young media professional, what more could you want?

Pell said that the network wants to see more women have a seat at the table.

“Given the rise of the female agenda and through thoughtful collaboration, WHIMN has developed this program to support and advocate for up and coming media executives to help them advance and unleash their limitless potential.

Our goal with the program is to create an opportunity for young professionals to grow and develop in the media industry, and ultimately empower them to take their seat at the table. It’s so important to have female role models across more industries to inspire leaders of the future,” she said.

In case you were wondering, the mentors (all pictured below) come from varying backgrounds and include:

  • Lyndall Campher, Media Director, L’Oreal Australia and New Zealand
  • Kate de Brito, Editor-in-Chief, news.com.au
  • Tara Ford, Executive Creative Director, DBB
  • Imogen Hewitt, Group Managing Director, Havas Media Australia
  • Virginia Hyland, Founder & Principal, Hyland
  • Naomi Johnston, General Manager, Starcom
  • Nicole McInnes, Head of Marketing, eCommerce WooliesX
  • Libby Minogue, Executive General Manager Media & Content, REA Group
  • Kirsty Muddle, Founding Partner and Chief Innovation Officer of Cummins & Partners Australia
  • Sue Squillace, CEO Australia of Spark Foundry

Applications are open for four weeks from today, so good luck! Those selected for mentorships will then be notified and paired with their mentors. Apply at the News Corp website.

As well as the media mentoring program, WHIMN’s mentoring initiative also includes a consumer
focused campaign which provides the opportunity to be mentored by other inspirational female leaders.
Running across News Corp Australia’s metro mastheads and digital networks from today, the Women
United mentoring program is supported by:

  • Foreign Minister The Hon Julie Bishop MP
  • Turia Pitt, mindset coach, international keynote speaker, humanitarian and athlete
  • Janine Allis, Australian franchiser, Boost Juice and Retail Zoo founder
  • Tiffiny Hall, founder of TIFFXO, Australian author and television personality
