60 minutes came in sixth with a national reach of 1,567,000 and an average audience of 850,000, airing a special episode on shark attack survivor Leah Stewart. Stewart revisited the harrowing Coogee Beach incident, her recovery and the aftermath.
Sunday Afternoon NRL drew in a national reach of 1,228,000 and an average audience of 553,000 as the Paramatta Eels beat out the Cronulla Sharks 38-18.
ABC’s Portrait Artist of the Year came in ninth with a national reach of 1,017,000 and an average audience of 561,000 with last night’s episode featuring TV host Carrie Bickmore, journalist Marc Fennell and paralympian Ellie Cole.
SBS cracked Sunday’s top 30 with 9/11: The Day The World Changed. It had a national reach of 708,000 and an average audience of 162,000.
Seven’s AFL coverage topped Saturday ratings with the finals beginning over the weekend. Carlton took on Melbourne in a 74 to 55 win securing a national reach of 2,208,000 and an average audience of 894,000. Nine’s NRL coverage followed closely behind with a clash between the Cowboys and West Tigers which saw the Gold Coast team victorious 24 to 10. It had a national reach of 1,083,000 and an average audience of 433,000.
Seven’s AFL coverage remained in the top spot on Friday as well with a national reach of 2,539,000 and an average audience of 966,000 with the audience tuning in to watch the Western Bulldogs defeat Collingwood in a nail-biting 96 to 93 game. NRL again followed with a national reach of 1,270,000 and an average audience of 625,000.
