More than three million Aussies tuned in to Nine for Married At First Sight’s 2026 final commitment ceremony.
The 2026 season may almost be over, but fans are still watching in mass numbers. A total TV national average audience of 1,879,000 people watched on as expert John slammed ‘fake’ power couple Gia and Scott.
Throughout the whole season Gia and Scott have pea cocked around as “the couple to be”. But, last night on the commitment ceremony couch that all came crashing down.
As soon as the couple sat down Scott made his intentions clear.
“What I’m going to talk about tonight, I don’t want you to be upset,” he said to Gia.
He then voices to the experts that he cannot voice any concern to his wife without causing an argument. But, because he doesn’t want conflict, he chickens out and doesn’t bring up a specific problem again.
Expert Alessandra wanted to take this matter further and asked how she spirals and what names she calls him. Once again, scared of conflict Scott chickens out.
This causes a swift response from John. “We’ve got all night. We are not going anywhere. We are going to sit here and ask you uncomfortable questions until you come clean… What I’m seeing here is fake, and I’m going to call you out. I’ve seen it the entire experiment.
“You talk about things in a way where you don’t give us any of the information. You skirt around the issues.”
Finally, Scott admitted that he’s felt pressured to say he loves her, and when he doesn’t she’ll call out his manhood.
Moving away from MAFS and Seven’s Australian Idol raked in a total TV national reach and a national average audience of 1,929,000 and 932,000—coming in at fourth on Sunday’s TV ratings.
Saturday’s ratings was dominated by the 2026 Athletics Maurie Plant Meet on Seven. More than one million Australians watched on as global superstars and homegrown heroes descended upon Melbourne to compete in Australia’s premier one-day athletics meeting.
The headline of the day which helped draw in an average audience of 352,000 people was Lachlan Kennedy defeating Aussie superstar Gout Gout again in the 200 metres.
Alike Saturday evening, Friday was dominated by sport. Seven topped the ratings with the AFL and Nine landed in the top four with its NRL broadcast.
