The ABC’s all-things adland, Gruen, continues its impressive season, pulling 728,000 last night according to OzTAM metro numbers and making it the sixth most-watched show of Wednesday.

The Block was the most-watched entertainment show with 871,000, while 10’s The Bachelorette did 667,000.

Despite Nine’s protestations otherwise (primarily to B&T), Love Island continues to go backwards. It could only muster just 312,000 last night.

SBS’s returning Struggle Street returned (and struggled) to a reasonable 264,000.

Nine won the night with 27.1 per cent audience share (all channels). Seven rued its chances with 26.3 per cent. 10 had a neat 20, the ABC did a neat 18 and SBS did 8.6 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news (981,000) beat Nine’s (765,000). ACA did 704,000.

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (264,000) scrambled Today (173,000).

Other standouts for Seven included Home And Away (562,000), The Chase (549,000), Motorbike Cops (441,000) and Highway Patrol (423,000).

10 also did well with The Project (487,000) and 10 News First (350,000).

The ABC’s evening ran thus: Gruen (728,000), 7pm news (607,000), Julie Zemiro’s Home Delivery (522,000), 7.30 (466,000) and Frayed (440,000).
