Last night’s ARIAs drew a respectable 500,000 for host broadcaster Nine, however, the annual music gong fest still had to play second fiddle to the ABC’s dominant comedy offerings of Hard Quiz and Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell.
Once again, Hard Quiz was the most watched entertainment show of the evening, pulling an impressive 742,000. While 719,000 continued with Micallef’s merriment.
Despite all that, Seven won Wednesday with 30.6 per cent of the audience share. Nine was second with 27.4 per cent, the ABC stole third with an impressive 20.1 per cent. 10 took 15.3 per cent and SBS had a mere 6.6 per cent.

Nine’s night was dominated by its ARIAs coverage, however, its 6pm news (900,000), ACA (742,000) and Hot Seat (442,000) were its other standouts.
