GroupM’s Wavemaker was Australia’s top performing media agency in January according to the latest data from martech firm R3.
January is infamously adland’s slowest month with just nine agencies recording any new business.
Wavemaker took top spot after GroupM bosses handed it the $40 million Mondeléz account from Mindshare in order to realign with the global account.
The agency will handle the media for Mondeléz brands in Australia including Cadbury, Oreo, Philadelphia, Captain’s Table, Ritz, The Natural Confectionary Co., Pascall and Sour Patch Kids.
Coming in second on January’s win list was Spark Foundry, followed by Initiative, MediaCom and PHD.
